This, as the other week have been just rewarding.! Personally I've learnt a lot! What about you?
The web offers new kinds of learning opportunities and new tools for assessment. I would share with you the following:
1. Alternative assessment uses activities that reveal what students can do with language, emphasizing their strengths instead of their weaknesses. In another way it lets our students learn from themselves and their peers not only from the teacher.
2. "Project Based Learning", written by Susan Gaer. I feel very captivated because she mentions how she started teaching less and learning more, and I felt surprised. I think that folktales is very useful and interesting in the way students who made the mistake don't feel embarrassed. Besides they like making activities like ( recipes, Folktales, etc) to work in groups so they practice their collaborative skills and become more respectful, tolerant.
3. WEBQUEST, what a useful tool for planning an activity!. What I like the most about this is the functionality to work in groups. Besides, assessment is included, students can use rubrics to assessment their own work. There is no ground for claims or doubts.
4. My Rubric: It was very interesting and useful for all my webparnert s. Here you have my rubric: Rubric ID # is: 2051058 . Rubric Title : Video - Talk Show : Discovery Channel.
In conclusion, these tools give us innovative ideas to get our students to achieve their language knowledge in a very different way, and above students will acquire a significant understanding.
